The dream of a loudspeaker designer is a single acoustic transducer capable of reproducing the deepest bass together with all the intricate and delicate highs, with the softest of rhythms yet at the same time having exceedingly wide dynamics. All the music being reproduced by a single speaker driver.

The nearest approach towards this ideal is a 2-way system with the separation as wide as possible of the frequency ranges.

Since the most sensitive area of the human hearing is between 1 kHz and 4 kHz together with all overtones of this frequency range, the build up of transients, sound pressure occurring under 1 kHz should also be integrated into the hearing area of the overtones from a single point source with a mass as low as possible of the membrane. Ideal would be an “exact phase point spotlight”. Acapella has designed and engineered a new hyper spherical Horn shape with a single point source for high frequencies increasing from three to five Octaves, from 700 Hz to over 20 kHz. The newly designed horn fulfils the expectations demanded by the engineer achieving a natural output level over a wide frequency range.

The achieved result is a dynamic and musical loudspeaker with a high level of clarity and speed, compatible with best of live music.

Acapella LaCampanella Alto MK II In the constant effort in pursuing true and authentic sound reproduction Acapella has developed the LaCampanella Alto MKII using the technology based on the successful LaCampanella. With the inclusion of a second bass unit a symmetrical wide range and highly effective sound stage is achieved.

Due to the horn shape, reproduction of the resulting Acoustic spatial images radiate with inconceivable precision, this can be appreciated when listening to large Orchestras and Big Bands. The diffraction effects and space resonance problems are reduced to a minimum. Interactions with the various room acoustics become symmetrical especially with the low frequency ranges. The reproduced frequency spectra achieve a homogeneous single point-exact spatial image.

The special shaping of the horn allows a usable range of 5 Octaves. This technology, invented by Acapella, makes possible the theoretical ideal of a acoustic single point emitter very close to reality. Within the range of 700 Hz to over 20 kHz the Acapella LaCampanella Alto MKII combines the medium high Hyper spherical horn together with 8 very fast Bass drivers, achieves an acoustic single point image, the result is an extremely precise three-dimensional audible reproduction.

With the high impulse speed of the specially designed components the LaCampanella Alto MKII reproduces even smallest single instruments or voices which until now could only be heard only from the large Acapella systems.

Acapella Violon MK IV is a consequent further development of Violon 1. In contrast to Violon 1 the Violon MK IV is a closed 3 way-system, that optionally can be supplemented with a 25 cm bass device (sub octave), which itself is hidden in the enlarged total volume. Both bass devices are dynamically adapted to the high-speed of the mid-range and treble horn. Our ion treble speakers actually are the fastest treble transmission system throughout the world. As it works without mobile mass its high-end frequency amplification cut-off only depends on the limitations set by the sellers.

The ion tweeter speaker is designed for frequencies up to about 40 kHz. This extraordinary width of the frequency band makes it possible to play out every kind of music precisely. Acapella ION TW 1S (Ionic Tweeter)

The Acapella ion tweeter „Ion TW 1 S“ is a perfected and sophisticated loudspeaker chassis, whose exceptional performance and qualities can only be enjoyed completely if used properly.

It was designed to reproduce the harmonics of the music as detailed as possible. To reach this goal, a design with the smallest possible mass had to be developed. Relative to its function the Acapella ion tweeter has no mass! To carry out this project, a very unusual kind of design had to be created.

High voltage within the unit produces a constant arc. This arc is modulated with the musical signal (flame oscillates with the time of the music). This is the reason why the number of electrons within the arc varies. A larger or smaller amount of electrons requires similar space. Due to this variable need of space the surrounding air molecules have to dodge the more or less quickly. This evasive action or bumping of the air molecules generates over- under pressure and, therefore, sound. In this way, the Acapella ion tweeter is able to reproduce sound without membrane and without mass
Regarding transient capabilities and phase stiffness, the obtained sound quality cannot be realized by using conventional tweeters. Comparing the ion tweeter with other tweeter systems, its unobtrusive sound image will attract you. This kind of reproduction is to be attributed to the lack of harmonic and transient distortions.
